 Welcoming Ministry Minimize

How can our Parishes become more welcoming places where people feel included and a sense of belonging. This is something that we have been looking at both in our Parish Pastoral Council in St. Ethelbert's, and within St. Peter's Deanery, Slough. Portsmouth Diocese have produced some good literature on this as well. It is something that every parishioner should be aware of and involved in.

 Fr. Dave's Leaving Do.

PPhotos082.JPG      We said bon vogage to Fr. Dave Larkin SPS on 7th July 2007. He returned to Ireland to be with his family and to work through the Kiltegans for migrants in and around his home city of Dublin. He was only here for two years, but he made a great contribution to the Parish in many ways for example; beautiful liturgies, music, a collaborative ministry programme, morning prayer and exposition and his work with the Zimbabwean community.

We invited him back for a wonderful party in August which was a mixture of refreshments, music, speeches and party-pieces.  We presented him with a cheque and a gift of a digital camera. He stated that he really enjoyed it, and it was wonderful for the Parish to get together and socilise. He will be missed and we wish him well.

It was with sadness that we heard soon afterwards that Fr. Dave's mother Patricia passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and the family. The Parish has sent a Mass Bouquet from St. Patrick's Missionary Society where she will be perpetually remembered in Masses, and also a donation to the society.

I have managed to add some more photos. Will add more!
