National Youth Sunday
November 26th was the Feast of Christ the King, and each year is celebrated as National Youth Sunday. The Youth of the Parish prepared the evening Youth Mass on that day. They were involved in preparing music, singing, a banner, a drama, readings and bidding prayers. We also had some refreshments and a cake sale for CAFOD afterwards. The sale made £75 and the youth are going to decide which CAFOD Christmas gifts to use the money on. It was a really wonderful celebration and some of the youth invited friends to come who also said they really enjoyed it.Youth Sunday was also the launchdate of the livesimply initiative that will run through the coming year. To find out more about this refer to www.nymo.org our diocesan website. The Youth are now preparing for our Carol Service and Social on December 15th. Money raised will go to help our local homeless charity SHOC (Slough Homeless Our Concern) who are in great need of help. The Youth are running a stall and also making up a donations box (winter woolies, toiletries, tinned food). Please see the main notice on the Carol Service and Social.

Youth Conference (11/11/06)
Sixteen young people and four adults attended last Saturday's Conference. Those who attended ranged from 12 - 18 years old. It was a really excellent response. The number included two pupils from St. Joseph's Catholic High School along with the Head of RE, Mrs. Plumtree, and two young parishioners from Holy Redeemer Parish. They enjoyed a Youth Stream run by the Ezekiel Project, whilst the adults had an excellent keynote speech from Steve Corolla who works in Youth Ministry in Boston, USA. Our youth were very much involved in the closing Mass with Bishop Peter in the areas of singing, drama and bidding prayers. New friends were made and fresh enthusiam for our joint mission gained. Maria would like to thank in particular Brid Vaughn from Our Lady of Peace Parish, Burnham, who drove eleven of the youth in her Parish minibus. If you would like to be involved in our Youth activities in the Parish, please read the announcement about Youth Sunday. You can also check out the website www.nymo.org , our diocesan website. Photos of the Conference will follow shortly.
